Parkville Days Parade Best Float – Second Year in a Row

If you made it to the Parkville Days Parade last month, you might have noticed a parade float filled with lots of cute dancers dressed in pink with big side ponytails. Catherine’s Dance Studio once again stole the show and won Best Float for the second year in a row. The theme was “80’s Baby,” and the girls wore it well. Neon colored balloons with “boom boxes” on top adorned a float jam-packed with bright smiles. The girls and many family members traveled down Main Street and the downtown corridor waving at all in sight; capturing the hearts of the crowd. This annual event has become a favorite for the studio and the dancers. A part of the day everyone looks forward to is the ‘hot dog social’ at the end of the parade for all the tired and hungry float riders and their fans.

New Studio Remodel

To start the fall session of dance classes, the studio has had a complete overhaul. With years of loving use, Catherine and Judy decided that a transformation was in order. Fresh carpets have been installed to line the waiting area. New cubbies are in place for dancers’ bags and shoes. The dance floor has been replaced, and the most exciting news of all is the larger ballroom. All the walls have been removed to create one large, open, 1000 square foot dance floor. This wide open space allows, even more, room for the instructors to see each and every dancer in class. Catherine’s commitment to smaller class sizes has not changed. Smaller classes allow for more personal attention to each individual dancer. This has been and always will be the studio’s philosophy.

Winter Recital on the Horizon

Preparations and practice have begun in anticipation of Catherine’s Dance Studio’s Winter Recital. Routines are being practiced and put in place, costumes selected and techniques perfected. This annual Winter Recital is always a family favorite. This school year dancers will continue to grow in their technique, their friendships, and love. The owners and instructors at Catherine’s wouldn’t have it any other way.
