Dancing Makes a Difference

One of the things we love about Dance is how it can transform. How a very young girl can show up for her first ballet class shy and withdrawn, apprehensive and a little pensive. When she regularly comes to class and becomes comfortable in the routine of class you can see her blossom and shine and just- be.

We’ve been watching our student’s faces as they see their costumes for the Spring Recital for the first time. Have you noticed how they completely light up when they try them on for the first time?  There is such joy on their faces and in their bodies. Little girls twirling in front of the mirror; arms raised high, posing this way and that. Encouraging her friends in class to do the same. The feeling is contagious. There is a spirit in her soul at that moment that comes through dancing.

Express Yourself Through Dance

Dancing is not only a skill that can be learned but a beautiful way of expressing yourself. For some, being in a dance studio is the place where they feel their best. A place they feel themselves, they don’t feel judged and they feel free. Being in the dance studio is where Catherine found, in her younger years, she could be her best. No matter what was happening at school or with friends, she knew she had her dancing. She knew she was good at it and more importantly, she knew she was very good at teaching others to dance.

Smaller Dance Classes

If you’ve been around Catherine’s Dance Studio for a while, you know that our faith is strong. Our faith is important to us and we believe that our footsteps are guided by our faith. We have always believed that if you do the right thing for the right reason, the process will work out. That’s why we focus on smaller class sizes. We believe the right way to teach dance is to be able to see and to know every dancer in class. If we can’t see a her, then how can we help to teach her? How can she improve or know that we care about her if we can’t see her eyes light up or the adorable smile on her face?

Your daughter is a Princess

As we get ready for our Spring Recital (and you know how hectic that can be!) we want our parents to know, we believe we serve a higher purpose. We are here to teach dance, and we are also here to make a difference in your child’s life. Our studio is a place for her to discover herself, feel good about herself and know that no matter what happens ‘out there’ that in our studio, she is a princess and a child of God and our mission is to always treat her as such. We believe that will make a difference in her life.
